Community Service Officer

Purpose

The Community Service Officer has the responsibility and availability to work directly with the Whitehall Township community and other law enforcement agencies in an effort to evaluate the requests of our residents and answer questions these residents have pertaining to police activity in their neighborhoods, quality of life concerns, and crime prevention to name a few.
Officer Paul Davis
Officer Paul Davis has been employed with the Whitehall Police since February 1995. He is happy to have the benefit of working with the finest men and women in law enforcement and doing so in the Whitehall community.

Officer Paul Davis became the Community Service Officer in 2009 and believes that “The character of any good police officer is a direct result of the people that work with him and are supportive of him and his actions.”

Our Community Service Officer position was created to establish a better relationship between the residents of Whitehall Township and the Whitehall Township Bureau of Police. The Community Service Officer is a certified Crime Prevention Practitioner.

The Community Service Officer participates in many community activities which may include attending Whitehall-Coplay School District events, the annual Halloween Parade, Community Days held at the Lehigh Valley Mall, as well as the Child Identification Fingerprint Program.

The Community Service Officer maintains relationships with community organizations, local public officials, the news media, civic groups and the business community to foster mutual respect and understanding with the Bureau of Police.

Monthly Citizens Crime Watch meetings are held to inform residents of crime trends observed in their specific community. The Community Service Officer is able to hear questions and concerns the residents have and the ability to provide crime prevention information along with informing the Patrol Officers of these concerns in an effort to directly address the issues. Crime prevention is a huge part of the Community Service Officers responsibilities. Through crime watch meetings and community events, the residents and patrons of Whitehall Township are able to benefit from available crime prevention practices. Pamphlets and other resources are available to the public at these events as well as at our Police Headquarters.
